Amazon had a spectacular second quarter with measures. The firm’s per-share earnings of 5.07 were more than double analysts’ estimates of 2.49, and it had the greatest quarterly profit in its background of about $ 2.5 billion.
By nearly every metric, Amazon met or exceeded expectations, and revealed the potency of its Amazon Web Services cloud branch and earnings from its comparatively new advertising support. Both provide higher profit margins than its traditional consumer-products businesses.
