Target’s test of Google Express in New York and California has been successful leading to a nationwide rollout. The announcement on Thursday last week enables shoppers to purchase items on Google Express, the voice-activated shopping platform that competes with Amazon’s Alexa.
In a similar move to Wal-Mart’s earlier this year, Target says that shoppers will be able to link their Target accounts to Google if they wish, giving them a more personalized shopping experience based on their history. Customers can also link their credit cards and will be able to save 5 percent when shopping via Google Express. All these will be happening in 2018.
