Twitch, the social video platform that was acquired by Amazon in 2014 has opened its first official merchandise online store. And to tap into Amazon’s muscle, the store is not only powered by Amazon’s e-commerce engine but its merchandise can be found at amazon.com/twitchmerch. While the items can also be found at twitch.tv/store, all purchases will require an Amazon account.
Amazon bought the company for almost $1 billion and integration of its wherewithal and technology is a bid to hold Twitch’s hand and help it grow. This integration is not only one way with Twitch having introduced last year Twitch Prime, a mix of Amazon Prime benefits for gamers like in-game bonuses, an ad-free Twitch experience, selection of free digital titles and discounts on game pre-orders.
