Amazon has unveiled a low cost Fire HD 10 tablet that will only cost $150.The new gadget whose preorders begin Tuesday, is a substantive upgrade of the previous version though not as sophisticated as for example, the posh iPad.
The new features that will be of interest to users are a boost in the processor speeds for watching movies and gaming while the battery life has been extended to last up to 10 hours. The “hands-free” Alexa is a notable utility that will enable users to call up the digital assistant without necessarily launching a separate application. This means that the normal Alexa functionality like checking the weather or controlling lights in your house, that’s native to Amazon Echo, will now be available on the Fire HD 10. This feature will be incorporated in a software update expected on Oct. 11, according to Amazon.
Additionally the tablet comes with a clear 1080p display and 32GB of storage. For those who need more storage there is a more pricey one with 64GB of space. Alternatively one has the option of utilizing the microSD card slot.
