Media company stocks dropped off Friday following a report by The Information that Amazon Web Services is thinking about selling its own network switching apparatus.
Cisco dropped 4% from the end of trading, representing a reduction in stock value of roughly $8.5 billion. Juniper gave up more than two per cent. Arista Networks dropped more than 4%, and also F5 Networks dropped approximately per cent. Broadcom, which makes chips used in switching apparatus, was more than 3% on the day following the report, extending a demanding week for the stock.
