A new Alexa skill will let shoppers use the digital voice assistant to find and grab deals from Best Buy in an unprecedented partnership with Amazon. Traditionally, the two companies are deemed competitors and their newest friendship seems mutual with benefits to both sides.
In a press release, Best Buy said that the new skill is just a hint of great plans that the company has for tapping into voice shopping.

As other retailers shut down stores that are increasingly becoming unprofitable in the face of a bustling e-commerce environment, Best Buy has continued to grow at an amazing pace. The company reported record sales on its online platform for last quarter, recording $1.1 billion in U.S. online revenue – a 31 percent jump over the same period last year. This combination of in-store and online shopping has given Best Buy’s customers the shopping experience that is in harmony with expectations and this has turned out well for the retailer.
