Tesco currently offers those services only in South East and London cities. With the stepped up competition from AmazonFresh, Tesco decided on Monday to roll out the services across UK and cover more than 99% of the households in the country.
When Should One Make An Order?
For your order to be delivered on the same day, you will need to place it before 1pm. The shopping will then be delivered starting from 7pm going forward. You hence will be assured of making your dinner on time. AmazonFresh should be keen about this unfolding because the items to be ordered are not limited, and the service is priced at between £3 and £8.
Customers can also click to order and pick the items from the designated collection point. This service has been extended to an additional 300 locations in the UK. Customers residing in central London can also enjoy the Tesco Now Service, which is a one-hour delivery.
The move by Tesco shows that the introduction of AmazonFresh online services for the fresh grocery delivery service is a force to recon with. It increased the pressure on the Big Four companies and already established providers, to keep up with the game and hold on to their market share. The collaboration with Morrisons in the UK gives the internet giant an upper hand too to enable it to spread its roots across London, Hampshire and Surrey.
