The irritating delays that we experience after ordering for groceries are now behind us, thanks to the introduction of Tesco Now, the one-hour grocery delivery service by Tesco. The UK supermarket chain is set to challenge Amazon in its new grocery service christened AmazonFresh.
The introduction can be seen as a reaction to Amazon’s decision of purchasing Whole Foods Market, where Amazon will be using the existing Whole Foods stores as delivery and pick up points.
Order via mobile app
The one-hour service will cost a customer £7.99. You can save £2 if you opt to use the second option of waiting for your order for two hours, and in that case you will pay £5.99 for the delivery. The supermarket’s branches in London as well as South East are offering same-day delivery service.
You will be able to track your order on the mobile app until its delivery. With this service, you don’t have to worry about forgotten kitchen essentials or an ingredient that you must include in your cooking. Tesco will bring it to you within an hour.
The Faster one-hour delivery for now has concentrated on central London that is marked as zone one. It’s also extending to other postcode areas in London. Customers have the flexibility of ordering for their groceries from wherever they are, thanks to the Tesco Now application. It allows you to access the 1,000 products as you select the ones you need.
Limitations of the Service
Whereas there is a wide range of products that you can choose from, you are only allowed to order a maximum of 20 items from the range of 1,000 products selected for this new service. The limit is a minus because a customer who might be in an urgent need of an order larger than 20 items won’t benefit from this service
After you have completed your order, paid for it and provided your address, it will be delivered to you by moped due to their ease of maneuvering through traffic and ease of access to short routes to your address.
Some of the products in the range include vegetables, meat, fresh fruits, dairy and bakery. You can also include some baby and pet products in your order, as well as some beauty products.
With the current war on grocery delivery among the major online and brick-and-mortar stores, one can only wonder how much better it will get for the customers.
